The Gospel According to...Julie Ann Earls

Name: Julie Ann Earls

Hometown: Paramus, NJ

Education: BFA in Acting from Boston University and LAMDA

Who do you play in The Mysteries?: Angel

Tell us about The Mysteries: 48 playwrights each write an episode of the Bible giving a whole new, varied perspective on stories we have known for centuries. It's a whole evening of theatre that will challenge you, feed you, and entertain you.

Describe The Mysteries in three words: Sexy Fresh Faith

What's the wildest costume you wear in The Mysteries?: I'd say, but I think it would give away a fantastically silly moment in the show :)

If you could be anyone from The Bible, who would you be?: Mary? Although, when I watch the show, what always moves me is that, at the end of the day, she is just a mom who loses her son, regardless of him being the Messiah, and how painful that must be. She is so courageous.

Which company member is most likely to actually have lived during Biblical times?: Kyle Hines

Which company member is most likely to be the Messiah?: Actually, probably Colin.

Most likely to become an angel?: Jessie MacBeth

Most likely to hear voices in their head?: Xan Russell

Who's the most spiritual?: Rebeca Rad

On the 8th day god said_____: brb

Are you going to heaven or hell?:
Well, I WAS cast as an Angel... ;)

Which of the Seven Deadly Sins are you?:
Envy

What's the biggest inside joke at The Mysteries?: I think we quote the show constantly... there are so many hilarious moments. Also, Ed's acting notes. You can't get more specific than "ANGELS - MORE MICROWAVED-BABY ACTING PLEASE!!!"

What's your favorite moment from The Mysteries?: The Apostle picture... breaks my heart every time! You fall in love with those boys by the end of the show.

What is the most rewarding part about being a member of The Mysteries?: Working with all of these wonderfully talented, kind-hearted young artists and being a part of new work. Also, finding my inner gospel singer a la Billy Porter every night.

Why should we come see The Mysteries?: I think this show actually challenges people and makes them ask major questions about their faith. So take on the challenge and have a drink with us.
