Spotlight On...Stacey Roca

Name: Stacey Roca

Hometown: Born in Liverpool, raised in Johannesburg, then back to England.

Education: 10 GCSE's, 3 A - Levels, a 3 year diploma in Classical Acting from Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art, 2 years at the Esper Studio, Bill Esper Meisner training.

Select Credits: TV: BBC's "The Office", BBC's "Waking the Dead", ITV's "Ladies of Letters", Channel 4's "Shameless" and ITV's "Lie with Me" Theatre: The Royal Court, London, The Soho Theatre, London, The Arts Theatre, London's West End and for The British Shakespeare Company.

Why theater?: You get to rehearse, generally the characters are fuller, plus you get to start at the beginning and finish at the end!

Who do you play in Pretty Babies?: Claire

Tell us about Pretty Babies: Its about addiction and entrapment.

What is it like being a part of Pretty Babies?: Interesting. Lots of big life questions to tackle.

What kind of theater speaks to you? What or who inspires you as an artist?: Theatre that speaks the truth. I hate being lectured in the theatre. Life and real people inspire me.

Any roles you’re dying to play?: Martha in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and anything written by Noel Coward.

What’s your favorite showtune?: Anything from Jesus Christ Superstar or City of Angels.

If you could work with anyone you’ve yet to work with, who would it be?:  Toss between Richard Linklater and Sir Richard Hall.

Who would play you in a movie about yourself and what would it be called?: A younger Laura Dern "Here we go again..."

If you could go back in time and see any play or musical you missed, what would it be?: Jerusalem  - can't BELIEVE I missed it!

What show have you recommended to your friends?: "Twin Peaks" is on Netflix - a must watch if you missed it and "The Gruffalo" if you have a toddler.

What’s your biggest guilty pleasure?: Good Guinness.
