The Gospel According to...Megan Branch

Name: Megan Branch

Hometown: Santa Fe, NM

Education: MFA The New School for Drama, BA University of New Mexico

Who do you play in The Mysteries?: Samantha/Marxist/Servant/Villager/Handmaiden/Herod Underling

Tell us about The Mysteries: Oh gosh.

Describe The Mysteries in three words: Goddamn! Goddamn! Goddamn!

What's the wildest costume you wear in The Mysteries?: Samantha’s assassin costume, come see it to find out, neo-Death Star-esque.

If you could be anyone from The Bible, who would you be?: Jesus. For sure.

Which company member is most likely to actually have lived during Biblical times?: Paul Thomas Truitt. For sure.

Which company member is most likely to be the Messiah?: Colin Waitt. Good job Ed.

Most likely to become an angel?: I thought Rebecca Rad already was one?

Most likely to hear voices in their head?: Lindsley Howard. Luckily she shares the voice with us and yells them out at you for all to hear.

Who's the most spiritual?: I think the whole cast. Worship takes place at South’s almost daily.

On the 8th day god said_____: Another day another DOLLAR SLICE.

Are you going to heaven or hell?: Hopefully I’ll go hang with Neil Degrasse Tyson in the cosmos.

Which of the Seven Deadly Sins are you?: Wrath, why not? "Grapes of Wrath" is one of my favorite books. I get wrathful when my blood sugar drops. If any of my performances was ever described as ‘wrathful’ I would feel badass.

What's the biggest inside joke at The Mysteries?:
Our bank accounts.

What's your favorite moment from The Mysteries?: Matt Stango’s sleep standing.

What is the most rewarding part about being a member of The Mysteries?: This insane process got me through the dark New York winter. Once again theater proves to be a constant soul motivating pick me up, and for that I am very grateful.

Why should we come see The Mysteries?: The staging of the crucifixion is one of the most stunning experiences I have ever felt in the theater.
